Graduated response system
An enforcement mechanism that permits internet service providers to take a wide variety of actions after giving users warnings (usually, two warnings) about their potentially illegal online filesharing activities, including suspension and termination of service, capping of bandwidth, and blocking of sites, portals, and protocols. Otherwise known as "three strikes". See generally Peter K. Yu, The Graduated Response, 62 FLA. L. REV. 1373 (2010).
