Mixed invention

An invention in which technical and non-technical features are present, as in Case T 2127, Game Apparatus/Bandai Co Ltd (EPO Board of Appeal, 12 May 2011). In that decision, the technical aspects of the features (modified games rules, which are non-technical) that distinguished the invention (a new computer game) from the prior art merely reflected the technical implementation of those features, so there was no inventive step.
